The proposed New Britain - Hartford Busway
The busway would provide a roadway exclusively dedicated for buses, operating for a 10-mile distance between downtown New Britain and downtown Hartford. It will provide a high level of service and amenities, including busway stations, parking at some locations, and other possible ancillary development. By providing an exclusive right-of-way distinct from the roadway system, the busway would enable both local and express routes to bypass congestion on Interstate 84 and local streets, making transit an attractive alternative to automobile travel
